Kooljaman Residency

20 gigs - One MOnth-three kids - many whales - Happy days

Our residency up at Kooljaman in Cape Leveque was magic! We played 20 gigs over the month and we loved it so much that we're going to do it again next year and maybe then we'll arrive by sea...

It was quite a juggle with the kids (since grandma and grandpa couldn't make it up), so we felt grateful to be a duo because it meant one person could run and catch a wee or something while the other kept singing. I was proud of Dave’s multi-tasking skills when he did just that and got back on stage in time to play a killer solo.. :-).. The amazing chefs in the restaurant incorporated bush tucker and the food was complete art and passion for the taste buds .. totally out of this world!! The people were so beautiful too!! Our days off included homeschooling, swimming ( Molly learnt to swim!) whale watching and fishing adventures on our sailing kayak (happy hobo) and out with hilarious local elder Brian Lee and cultural leader Bundy who invited us down to play at the celebration at Djaradjin community. Thanks to everyone who made it such a special experience :-).
